Boxer / Mixed (short coat) Dog

Asher (FTA) the Dog needs a home

Asher is currently in a foster-to-adopt home and unavailable for adoption

My Name is Asher…and I am a super cute and cuddly Boxer mix.  I pretty much look like a petite Boxer boy, but my nose ended up a little longer.  I am getting used to this MN weather, but not sure about this white stuff!  Luckily my foster mom has a coat to put on me, then it is not quite so bad outside.

I have a foster boxer brother that I really like.  He is very tolerant of me being an energetic 3 year old. Also, since I had to fend for myself for food at my last home, and was pretty skinny when I arrived here, he lets me take food, toys and bones from him.  I think he knows I need them more than he does.

Being 3, I have to say, I do have a lot of energy.  But hope during these winter months, I can find some new outlets for my energy.  I have heard of something called “obedience” training. Not sure about it, but I think it would be fun.  I do love to RUN!  Especially after squirrels and rabbits.  My foster mom seems to think I should have a fenced yard since I do love to run.  When I see these animals, I just love to chase them and end up not listening to her and she is afraid I may not come back when I run after them.  Don’t let my petite size fool you – I am quite strong and right not tend to pull when we go for walks and runs.  Especially when I see an animal I want to chase.  Foster mom says she keeps a good grip on my leash.  But she says it does help me that I wear a harness, so I don’t choke myself with a collar or slip out of it.  Momma says she has to be careful when she opens the outside door as I do try to run out ahead of her.

I really love to cuddle with my foster mom. She says I make a good blanket now that it is cold out!  I love belly rubs and give great kisses too.  I have learned about things called bully sticks, marrow bones and squeaky toys and the are GREAT!  I love all of them.

While I can be crated, it is not my favorite place.  My mom has been letting me stay out and gated in the family room and I have done well I must say.  And, she does come home after about 5 hours to give me break too.  She lets me sleep in her bedroom too.  I sometimes sneak up on her bed, but have slept on the nice dog bed on the floor too.

I hope I find a loving active family to let me cuddle and play with them!
